Today I caught my grand-daughter as she leaped into my arms.
It was not the moment of the embrace that touched me.
In fact it was the stillness of the moment when she opened her arms
and ran to me that I felt the loving embrace of her around my neck.
The day was done and her mommy had arrive to bring her home.
She gathered what comfort her in a gift bag she found from her
second home. An orange, Fruit loops in a zip lock bag, an Elmo
puppet and colorful spring color jelly beans.
She will come tomorrow to begin a new day of adventure
A new day that will inspire her to learn a new letter
A new tune to spin and twirl making her dizzy but all
the smarter for her ballerina slide
No tutu to flap in the wind, but a smile that is always for the win
Bright eye sparkle,
A giggle to accompany her zest for life
I only wish I knew how to revisit my moments of childhood.
